OF PUBLIC OFFERING OF COMMON STOCK
OF PUBLIC OFFERING OF COMMON STOCK
RALEIGH, NC February 7, 2011 Triangle Capital Corporation (NYSE: TCAP) (the Company) today
announced the commencement of a public offering of 2,500,000 shares of common stock in an
underwritten public offering. The Company also plans to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to
purchase up to an additional 375,000 shares of its common stock to cover over-allotments, if any.
The Company intends to invest the net proceeds of this public offering in lower middle market
companies in accordance with its investment objective and strategies, and for working capital and
general corporate purposes. The underwriters of this offering are Morgan Keegan & Company, Inc.,
Robert W. Baird & Co. Incorporated, BB&T Capital Markets, a division of Scott & Stringfellow, LLC,
Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, and JMP Securities LLC.
This offering will be made pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement on Form N-2 that
has been filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The offering may be made only by
